Shri Venkat Nageswar Chalasani retired as Deputy Managing Director, International Banking Group of State Bank of India on 30th April 2021. During a span of 37 1/2 years of service in the Bank, Venkat held various distinguished positions in the Bank pan India and abroad. He worked in all the areas of Banking – Credit, Treasury, Retail, International Banking, Finance, Risk Management etc. As DMD, IBG, Venkat was overseeing 233 foreign offices spread across 32 countries with balance sheet size more than $ 62 billion. He had held CFO position of the Bank briefly for 6 months as an additional charge. Prior to his assignment as DMD (IBG), he was DMD, Global Markets overseeing the largest Banking treasury operations in the country. Venkat has joined as CEO of AMFI since November 2023. He is Non-Official member for Board for Trade nominated by GOI, Board member of SBI-CDMDF. In addition, he is regular speaker at RBI College of Supervisors, CAFRAL, a Distinguished Fellow at Administrative Staff College of India and Member of various committees of RBI/SEBI. He was Member of Advisory committee of SREI Group of companies nominated by RBI, Financial Advisor to REC, IRFC and GreatKapital. He was also on the boards of various companies like NCDEX, Axis MF Trustee, IDBI Capital Markets & Securities Ltd., Apitoria Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Svamaan Financial Services Pvt. Ltd., FBIL, CDSL, CCIL etc.
